On June 2, 3 & 4, 2000,  (67) Hams from fourteen (14) states and the District of Colombia, 
accompanied by an even larger number of family members and friends, attended the 8th annual 
Rendezvous in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The Rendezvous is traditionally held during the first 
weekend of June in cities voted upon two years in advance. Rhonda Sparks, who was the wife of 
Silent Key JD (N4AGQ) hosted this year's event. It was such a resounding success that it gained the 
attention of the Fox Broadcasting Network that aired a television report on it during the Saturday 
evening news segment.
HIGHLIGHTS

Scheduled activities officially started Friday evening in the hotel conference room. Jean (wife of 
N4QBU) gave the welcome address, opening prayer, history of the Rendezvous.

Show Of Stars

From there, Ellen (wife of W3DBP) presented individual awards, group games and the show of 
stars. The show of stars was a real treat. W3DBP gave a stirring lip-synching rendition of a Wilson 
Picket oldie. Yes, he still has a day job. Lisa (wife of KE9BJ), Mary (wife of AA3NN), Thelma (wife of KE9PH), gave a flawless performance as Lisa (Martha) and the Vandellas. A very nice rendition of a Temptations hit was performed by Kevin, Wells son, Kenny (AA3NN), and Wells (W3DBP). Gerri (wife of K4IQD) as Diana Ross, Toni (wife of WB3JUV) Aretha Franklin, Jametta, Mary and Sing. Ellen as Tina Turner gave virtuoso performances.
